Niagara-on-the-Lake

Spent the day with our friends, Phil & Chris.
First on the agenda was a tour of the Hydro, where Phil works.

Next was a visit to St Mark's church, the oldest in the town, which was an interesting shape and boasted several organs of different vintages, and even a harpsichord.

Lunch was at the golf club, again the oldest in the area, with beautiful views across Lake Ontario, to Fort Niagara, followed by a walk to another old fort from 1812.

This is famous wine-producing area, with a stunning number of vineyards and a corresponding number of wineries with tasting facilities.  We visited one such, specialising in ice wines, and enjoyed the samples!
Our evening meal was at a place with an unprepossessing exterior, which cloaked a vibrant restaurant with delicious food.
